Yet when i said just that on here yesterday all hell broke loose!

People view games differently, I thought Hull were better than us except for the first 10 minutes where we edged it and needed to score. We might of had more possession than them but that doesn't win you games. Too much passing around the back and not enough play from our midfield.

We have a strong base to build on for the summer where we can get rid of the deadwood and bring in better wingers and better midfielders. But to me the play offs are out of reach and not beating a side above us all season we don't really deserve to be in there come the end of the season.

We don’t actually have a lot of deadwood. Hopefully we can keep most of the team together , send back the loan wingers and get better ones

The problem is so obvious, we just don't move the ball quick enough and as i've said previously keeping the ball after a spell of opposition pressure is fine but what is the point of passing back across the back time after time then launching a diagonal ball to players that are already marked.
Both our wingers need space to run into, they can take on defenders with pace and trickery but give them the ball "Early" not once they're surrounded by 2/3 defenders and when they are logic dictates someone else must be free so get your head up and look for them instead.

Their 1st goal was a prime example of what we should be doing, pass when your team mate is in space.

If we keep most of the team together and continue with the tactics we currently deploy we won't make the play offs next season either. If the board are serious about progressing to the Championship and consoliidating there then radical changes are necessary. On the other hand, if the status quo is acceptable then we can leave things much as they are and we probably won't get relegated either. Problem is, as in life, if you opt to stand still at some point your lack of ambition leads only in one direction.

I was referring to some of the Loan players as deadwood. Kelly, Barker, Grayson aren't good enough for a top 6 league 1 side. Shodipo and Lee are good back up players and Mcguane is what exactly we are missing at the moment. Few on the bench and out injured will be off aswell I would think, Hall, Hanson and maybe even Winnal. Then you got the likes of Clare out on loan who looked good at right midfield.

Karl got a busy summer and it could possibly be his last with us, are the board happy with us just being a mid table league 1 side? You could say he has had long enough to build a team to get us out this league by now.

I lost count of how many times myself and Mrs Lounger screamed at the tv screen yesterday in the futile effort to get the players to move the ball more quickly.
How many times we stared in disbelief as yet another pass was intercepted (or just never went near one of our own)

For KR to state that we were the better team for 60 minutes is just unbelievable. Hull sat back, waited for their opportunity and seized upon our mistakes to punish. They didn't have to play particularly well, just cover off any attackers and hold a high midfield line. Moore and Atkinson then, along with Stevens, passed to each other until out of frustration either tried their own luck as a midfield or simply hoofed in the direction of a winger.

If that is what KR has instructed then he needs to attend some remedial coaching skills classes.

One thing is for sure, come the summer the team needs to rebuild with emphasis on playing football without the set of loanees and journeymen crocks that infest our club at the moment. It's not called a team for nothing.
Some of our better players will be knocking on doors looking for better options as well. None of them will want to have their careers blighted by playing for a non achieving club.

I want to spend Saturday afternoons (and Tuesday evenings) cheering on a team that entertains, that wins, that plays football. A team that sends me home feeling proud to be an OUFC supporter not embarrassed by such performances. (and not by a manager who keeps telling me how proud he is of his players having just lost)

We’ll deserve to be there if we have the points to be there. You get the same 3 points for beating anyone. And if we beat all the sides below us and draw with any above us that’s plenty of points amassed.

Did I watch a different match to the guys posting..we lost to top of the table side that have extremely quality attacking players and , by being on the front foot, got caught by an extremely good player who also had luck with both goals .
Apart from those goals I don't think they had hardly any shots.
We played very well and could, shoukd easily have been one up then the game changes as they throw more forward and our pace could have been fruitful.
2nd half was disappointing but not as bad as being made out , we lost to a very good side , away , and mostly matched them .
The meltdowns on here when we lose are a bit OTT to say the least .

Which ones?
WE won nine in a row not long ago, playing with style and scoring loads of goals, though generally against teams not as good as Hull. We’re missing Long and Henry and the wingers are underperforming, but the rest of the players are still the same people.
