Seems to happen after every loss, most the team become non league quality despite challenging for promotion after 90% of the season is played even after a terrible start...

We have never been challenging for promotion.

Because of the traditional terrible start, perhaps.

The only one that was non league today was Robbo with his line up and tactics . We have a decent league 1 team minus Grayson, Kelly, Winnal that could walk in to any other team. Robbo is just lucky we had the 7 match winning run otherwise we would be in a right relegation scrap.

Did Robbo not pick the team or the tactics for those 7 games then? And Kelly wouldn't have played a minute in them either I'm guessing?

We've been not far off the playoffs for much of the season. Perhaps I should have worded it "challenging for the playoffs" but my point isn't inaccurate.

I agree we can all get frustrated and say stupid s**t at times, but leg braking, career threatening injuries is a bit OTT... just my opinion.

I‘m sure you didn’t really mean it anyway 👍
I think Oxford 84 meant just kick the cheating git into the air so he actually earned his FK

No. Only the challenging for the playoffs bit.

I wouldn’t, keep at it and build for next season.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s now very highly unlikely that we will make the okay offs, but whilst there’s still a chance I want us to go for it rather than write the season off NOW.

Bazzer you’re like a pendulum, from one extreme to the other, but no in-between.
The way we play the pendulum never stops in the in between

That were against 6 teams worse then us, twice against rovers , dont think its anything to brag about on Karl's CV when our budget is top 8. Plus we hardly set the world alight in that winning run, a last min winner against Rochdale for instance.

Hes not the messiah but I would have liked to see Agyei at CF after an hour if not before. However today wasn’t about individuals, it was a collective and managerial failure. It would have been a real bank holiday downer if we’d been allowed to attend, of the sort that we often suffer.
I'm not as hard on the Agyei train as everyone else seems to be but I would be lying if I said he shouldn't be getting a lot more minutes given the lack of performance from Shodipo and particularly Winnall. I'm not on the Karl hating train at all, however. He picked mostly the same side as did well against Sunderland, other than a forced change and bringing in a more competent full back (not that Forde is bad, Sam is just better). He should've been able to rely on that team for a good performance and they all let him down bar Long and Barker IMO. Maybe my outlook is skewed by the fact I never get to attend games anyway, so this season has been a blessing for me getting to watch every week and that's why I'm way more upbeat than everyone else!

By their nature pendulums stop, briefly, at either end of their sideways progress.

They're almost entirely in-between.

Have you lost the ability to be rational?
Why? It’s an honest question. We had a nine game spell that basically got us out of the s**t and knocking on the play off doors.
Or is it a case if we’re not good enough against the better sides in this league?

But those 7 games were built on Ruffels at left back and Long at right back completely running the show and playing out of their skins. Both have been injured. The management chose not to cover these positions in case of injury during the January transfer window, in fact weakened it by selling Obita. Instead they chose to pack the squad with players for other areas of the pitch that were already covered maybe not in quality but at least in personnel, so leaving left back and right back short with absolutely nothing as back up if one or both got injured. And we have suffered for it as a result.

Clearly we don't see eye to eye on this one! Perhaps I'm too much of a glass half full kind of guy. When your OUFC supporting life started in the 00s, it's difficult to see where we are as too bad!

Being a young whippersnapper helps as well.

Wait until you've been watching for as many years as some of us have. When that inevitability of mediocrity descends upon you by this stage of the season.
There have been good times and some real celebrations but this mid table crap and managers bullshit just slams you back into accepting that folk laugh when hearing which team you support. (if they even know who Oxford are, that is.)

I agree that we weren't brilliant then, and probably played better for big chunks at the beginning of the season when we couldn't buy a win. But over a season you tend to get balance this out. Last year we out performed on our budget by 4 or 5 places, this year we could under perform by a similar amount.

Hardly reason to panic in my view, but I get that others will think differently.
