I hope Blackpool go up - we've been on their level the past few years but this tie has shown that they've made the next step. Really good professional outfit, passionate fans who put our atmosphere to shame. The upside is if Lincoln beat Sunderland I don't really have to care about the final.

We need to have a clear out and get some names in early. We need to have a sensible pre-season. We need to start our season in August and not December.

Then again, we needed to try something inventive tonight and did we? No.

What we need is balance to the squad. It was so unbalanced from the start. To get through most of the season with two fit CBs, one who was playing his first full season of league football, was unbelievable and unbelievably stupid in my view.

Yes. The team needs to mature though.

3 years and 6 transfer windows he's had and everyone can see where he fails, lack of decent depth in the squad and signing crocks everytime. We just got beat by a Blackpool squad that had a new manager and a near on full new squad in the summer.

Disappointing but Glad the side showed some fight tonight; just too tentative in the first leg. Hope for good loan signings for next season, that extra quality seems to be critical getting out of this league.

Thoroughly enjoyable game. Was always gonna be an uphill task but we didn’t fold so huge credit. Can’t believe people are calling for the managers head, get a grip!
Our chances of a genuine promotion challenge rest in keeping the team together and adding quality in the place of the likes of Forde.
Could be an exciting summer if the takeover now goes through.

He has had a very good couple of months though and I hope he can fulfill his potential next season.

He's very talented, but if he's gonna play in the engine room of a team, at this level, then he needs to spend a lot of time in the gym over the summer, and bulk himself up, as he's so flimsy, and easily outmuscled.

They had some good loan players playing for them, I bet the Mackems wished they had Embleton was still with them rather than the Pool

I wonder if you'd like to debate the points raised by those questioning the manager rather than telling them to 'get a grip'?

Remember we were all crying out for a CB over the summer on here and literally nothing was done. It was an absolute farce that we didn't strengthen in the obvious areas. I know the joke is that we're always after wingers but it's genuinely not a joke anymore we need to strengthen in the obviously weaker areas.

Sykes since coming back from his exile after the scum defeat has done very well not sure whether it’s 2 or 3 MOM awards. Also the lad isn’t scared and has fight in him which has been lacking in some.

I think the time we finally signed a back-up left back only for them to play on the left wing and leave a couple of months later was my favourite.
