Home Match Day Thread 14/8/2021 - L1: OUFC v Charlton Athletic

We can’t be blaming the pass chaps… Come on. Everyone in the stand knew that pass was coming and would hurl their full weight at that ball. He got his technique wrong and misread the situation.

If the pass was to blame, you’re suggesting Matty Taylor would also have a hard time putting that away. Ridiculous.

FWIW - Winnall deserved to score for his performance and maybe with a bit more match sharpness he reads that better. If that game had ended 0-0 you’d all be saying something totally different!

If you get the chance, as you are the unofficial contact, maybe contact the powers that be about the cesspits and the lack of hygiene? ;) :poop:
Just touching on a very serious side of the stadium experience. Yes, I was appalled, again, today at the lack of proper hygiene in the toilets. Apparently the ladies had soap and paper towels whilst the gents, in the SSU did not. Nor, was there sufficient provision for hand sanitiser.
The Supporters' Panel has not been brought to fruition as yet - an update is being processed as I type - but, it will, and has, already been noted that the facilities need attention. Sadly, I have to say that I was assured that work was in process to give the stadium a full spring clean prior to todays match. It does not appear to have been fully completed. Now, whilst I am aware of staffing difficulties, it is simply not acceptable that hygiene is so neglected, not with all that we have to live with at this time.
I do not have, and nor will the Supporters' Panel, have any power to make demands of the club, we can, or rather the Supporters' Panel will have, the ability to recommend to the club certain actions. That said, this is an area of concern that should, and needs to be addressed.

Believe me , I do not appreciate the conditions as they are nor do I intend to remain quiet. Let's see if we can achieve something for all fans.

The pass was fine. Winnall just doesn't have a left foot.

Also, and I'm not blaming him, but if Sykes had a decent left foot he absolutely buries that himself. Just seen the highlights, and it's a fantastic run and his touch takes him inside the centre back (very similar to the position Henry found himself in at Wembley) But he takes it back away from goal and smashes the ball across. I think Winnall should have still scored, but the pass could have been very much kinder.

On the subject of hygiene the ground the surrounding areas they all just look neglected it’s not really been used for 18 months they’ve had plenty of time to tidy it up get it clean the toilets are from the seats are from the empty bingo hall
Next to the club shop f**k me mussed be Halloween every day there it’s s**t overgrown verges and the club pay to rent that stafium we as fans pay to attend that stadium it’s embarrassing
Never mind only 5 years left lol

Taylor scores but who cares now, cracking win and that’s 4 points from two games.

McNally looks another of the centre back procession line, no need to go and waste money on a league one donkey like mellow or kip would do.

It was mentioned to me today by the manager of F&B that it was something to do with unpaid service charges.

Could that possibly be correct?

He overhit it but he still should have scored
Exactly. The pass did have bit of zip on it, but does anyone think Taylor would've missed that??

But after getting on his case quite a bit recently, I don't want to bash Winnall too much after that display, it was probably his best since he's been here, so hopefully he's starting to gather a bit of momentum...

Yes I agree, lucky that Seddon got up though isn’t it?
