Home Match Day Thread +++ 16/03/2019 OUFC v Bradford City match day thread +++

Very late but YESSSSSSS!!!!! Mackie you beauty! Been watching swansea vs man city with a city fan in the home end. Long story short we nearly got mauled by swansea fans when he jumped up after getting a pen?

We made it hard for ourselves again. But justice was done in the end. Bradford deserved nothing from that game and that's what they got!
Great finish from Mackie, very composed. Take note Gav Whyte!

I’m off out - but wow. Just wow! Those scenes after our goal were utter madness. Definitely wasn’t a penalty, doesn’t look like a corner from the replays - just looks like a dreadful miss. Neither ref or linesman signal any issue with Eastwood’s kick as it was taken...to then even think about hauling it back on a non-VAR assisted game seemed madness.

As others (and Jerome on RO) have said, I can’t remember too many times at the Kassam where there have been scenes like after that Mackie goal. Absolute pandemonium! My shins are already coming up in bruises, my throat is raw and my shoulder is hurting from waving my arms about like a madman. Wouldn’t change it for anything.

As for the performance, I was lukewarm on it. 26 shots to 4 tells both the story of our control of the game...and also our complete, hopeless ineptitude in and around the box.

Jordan Graham’s performance was maddening. What is the point of being able to beat your fullback 74,000 times if all you do afterwards is shank it off the pitch or pump it into the first centre half? I bloody love Gavin Whyte - but the chances he missed this week could well have (and may still) relegate us. And that (offside) miss from Sinclair was just horrific.

Positives - Kashi was outstanding. I thought he was very good against Rochdale on Tuesday too (having not been at Gillingham - but plenty have been complimentary about his performance there too). As someone else on this thread said, he showed a lot of the same qualities as Mous - but also a far greater range of passes, and a welcome ability to move the ball a lot more bloody quickly.

Dickie - superb today. The howling wind, his bambi on ice running style. I thought the game was set up for a Dickie howler, but he was excellent. Managed their forwards and the conditions with composure, put his head on everything.

Mackie - not just the goal. But he was excellent when he came on. He organised young pros like Whyte, Browne and Sinclair, he was an absolute shithouse to their defenders, got ridiculously booked for pointing out the officials had pathetically not called a corner correctly. And that finish! After 38 shots into the car park from the rest of the team that strike was a revelation...

Never a penalty not sure whether the ball was out of the box when our player took control

Also, their manager claimed Nelson should have been booked for the challenge in the build up. On those highlights and what they got away with, absolutely not a yellow card.

KR, in his interview after a question, talked about Marcus Browne and something being said when he tried to walk off in the Ref induced delay. Was something untoward said towards Marcus Browne or did he say something untoward?

He said he would discipline Marcus Browne in house. I have read somewhere the Bowyer said something to Browne and he gave a reply which wasn’t appreciated.

Little worried about Wimbledons resurgence. They have very winable fixtures. I think we are now in a strong position to stay up, but I don't like another horse in the race.
True, but take a look at their highlights from today. Freak goal. Given they're coming here, we should beat them.

Gary Bowyer’s post match interview in full.
So he’s not claiming a penalty. He’s claiming a corner, then complaining that the Ref should’ve booked Nelson before allowing the re-start, then claiming Ruffles touched it inside the box, then claiming Eastwood shouldn’t have taken it as he had 4 players inside the box.
