Gorrin had a ‘tight groin’... might be true, might also explain his recent performances

Guessing it was tiredness and relatively poor form combined with sitting out the 37th game to avoid a suspension. He has a clear run to the end of the season now so could work out well. Was a risk to rest him for this one but paid off. Mainly because CB covered so selflessly. You could see the lad wanting to push forward constantly but holding himself back like there was a magnet in the D. Won us the game imho.
I agree. I thought that Brannagan was outstanding. My MOM although we had 3 or 4 who were very good

Excellent result last night and a really good performance, especially in the first half, it was a must win and we got the 3 points we needed. I thought Cam, Sykes and Henry were brilliant in the midfield, good work rate, linked up really well and won alot of the 2nd balls. it was a really solid team performance, with probably only Shodipo and Hanson who were not as good. Hopefully ruffles injury Is not too bad, but maybe a chance for elechi in the next few games. COYY.

Why would you say that? We have 27 points still to pay for!

Indeed we do Tim, but my feeling is that our recent form and our slow start has made the task incredibly difficult. That is not to say it is not impossible but my personal feeling is that we are not quite there.

Reasons :-

Our recent form has just not been consistent and we have slipped points as a result, although Henry’s return was a real positive for me last night, so who knows.

You say we have 27 points to play for. My gut feeling is we would need 6-7 wins out of the last 9. Given the run in maybe not insurmountable, but nevertheless still a huge task.

You also forget the teams around us. A couple have 36 points to play for and a couple have 33 points to play for, yet only the odd point separates us.

Our goals per game has to get right back up there to when we had our excellent purple patch.

I will remain ever hopeful, but my gut feel is one of just missing out. However, if we pulled it off it would mean our form going into the playoffs would have to be in the top 2-3, which would be a good omen.

Looking forward to see how Sunderland plays out.

Shodipo is a strange one. Never seen a player whose form deviates so much. He’s got talent but can’t keep hold of the ball and passing goes astray. When on form the running and crosses are amazing not to mention goals. Just too inconsistent for me. Shame - frustrating

He'll always be an "on or off" player in my opinion, maybe it'll change when he gets older but it's why he is on loan at L1. No higher club can afford to put in a player and not have the blindest idea on what will come out of it in the following 90 minutes.

Barker is similar but at least always shows some signs of class. He really drifted out of the game in the second half with Shodipo. At least he always offers an outlet...in the first half especially it was noticeable how Lincoln sat further back whenever he was on the ball.

Sorry Ricky.... soccer 😬
I’ve been here long enough now that I gave up trying to say football 🤬😬...ban me malc!!

Although technically I think if you look up the derivation they’re correctly adopting the original term (aSOCCiation football) and it’s us who has bastardised it

How is American Football, football?
Isn't the idea that it is predominantly running with the ball in hand or throwing the ball with hand?
As football becomes bigger in the US with MLS, does anybody call it 'football ' now or will it always be 'soccer?

Enjoyed that to be fair.
Their goal was super soft but aside from that they didn`t really look like being able to "hold" a result, a bit like us really!!
I`m not sure we have the consistency to get enough points and maybe that is the problem.

Sorry to hear that. I was lucky enough to get it from the start and not even one time of buffering, which is unusual.

That`s because nobody else could use it! lol
Luckily Sky games get thrown in the stream so hesgoal came up trumps for many!

I wouldn't mind calling it American football after all we have Australian football, Australian Rules football, and (officially) Rugby football. But I object to renaming REAL football as soccer. Typical Yank arrogance. Only they can use the term football apparently.

We played really well last night after Tuesday I thought we’re going to be in for abit of a whopping but fair play to KR and the players . imo shodipo was a weak link last night but as others have said if he was as good as he can be every game he wouldn’t be in league one also winnall the bloke runs like he’s got led in his boots bless him another little points Stevens kicking hopefully in the close season they can do some work on that it’s abit wayward.
Anyway let’s hope we get some results go our way in the other games now this season is starting to feel like CW first in charge when we missed out by 5 points because the fax machine was broken but I’d happily take it to the last game with something to play for same as when Apples got us promoted

He apparently has an underlying health issue as well as the groin. One that medical staff aren't over worried about but explains his recent poor form. They didn't say what it was but "it's not as alarming as cam's eye problem". So will be out for a while.

Just been having a look at the table after last nights win. Really could have done with those 3 points on Tuesday. Squeaky bum watching other teams and wishing they would mess up

He almost seemed scared to run down the wing and take people on when offered the opportunity last night. Odd.

But he went missing at right back for their first goal. He’s not a right back he’s not a left back and when he’s in midfield he regularly gets his pocket picked, he’s also way too slow
He didn't go missing. He went for the high press which would have been part of our game plan. Once this was missed he was never getting back. After this he was pretty solid, and even did a job at left back when asked. He has also done pretty well in midfield when asked since coming back from injury.

Take your blinkers off and watch the game and you might just see something very different!
