I hope Robbo wasn’t or hasn’t been waiting for Cadden in the last 2/3 transfer windows and was hoping to sign the elusive Cadden then he has to be held accountable. He must have known what we’ve all knew this season and that was to get defensive cover.

The Charlton one is the only one with any real substance.

Crewe - worst side in the division by far.

Ipswich - we went there and set up for a 0-0 v an Ipswich side who were very poor under Paul Cook compared to their new look side.

Playoff chances finished after that result surely?. I don’t think I seen is that unresponsive after losing a lead in a long time.

Robinson keeps on rolling out the bluster after a game about an unsettled back 4, having to play players out of position etc etc - the truth is it's his poor recruitment and his stubbornness to acknowledge the fact he didn't build a squad properly or get a decent defensive midfielder in, once Gorrin was out, that has contributed to us throwing away this season. And he could have played a 'recognised' back 4 last night, players in their true positions, but it was makeshift yet again. Brown is not a left back, Williams is not a full back so why not play Seddon, play Brown centrally and Long in RB?
As has been said above, lack of defensive cover (to have no proper full back cover is criminal!) and the lack of quality recruitment is his fault. No one else, just KR.
Yes McNally has been a real find, yes Whyte has assisted a lot, but was the signing of Browne prudent and necessary? Was Kane worth the extra fee? Was Holland the right fit for us? His insistence on signing all these attacking players and setting the team up to attack, not to be solid and balanced is his fault. Yes we've scored bucket loads which is lovely to watch but you cannot achieve anything conceding the amount we do and defending the way we do.
Other teams will be laughing at how we have thrown away a promising position and we only have ourselves to blame. I for one am very disappointed about how things have turned out.

KR complaining about lack of defensive cover but yet he has a RB long he has 2 CBs McNally brown with JM on the bench he has a LB Seddon yet he chooses to play players out if position because of his stubbornness oh yeah he also signs the players so why not sign another RB another LB a decent holding midfielder but oh no he goes and signs Browne who had been injured for god knows how long I'm sure that money could have signed better players in positions we needed cover
It's time KR stops complaining and actually start admitting his f**k ups

Th
And for both playoff seasons, we shouldn't just forget the ridiculous runs of good/bad form which negates any suggestions that they were in any way stellar seasons. We still looked ridiculously exposed at times. We were poor or average in all semi final and both finals. We may have been in the playoffs but we never looked like winning them.

I agree that KR won't go for some time because he's a solid league 1 manager. And overall, league 1 is a pretty nice place to be. But we as fans can all see that his recruitment is diabolical. His teams are unbalanced and frail. Somebody needs to put pressure on him to fix glaring weaknesses in his management style, and the worst part is he must know about his weaknesses. He just chooses not to improve.
Ive thought for some time that we desperately need a director of football to help with recruitment. It would enable us to be more strategic about it. Force Robinson into building a more balanced squad instead of grabbing wingers like a kid in a toy shop. And maybe discourage him from gambling so much of the budget on players with poor injury records.

It's not over till the large rotund lady sings. :)

Can we do it on a cold, wet Tuesday night in Morecambe? Nope.

Is it "over"? Nope.

Will we make the playoffs? Maybe.

Is Saturday a 6 pointer/Must win? Hell yes.

Ride the rollercoaster kids, wave your hands in the air when you are upside down, this is OUFC its never easy and its the hope that kills you. 🤷‍♀️

Excellent post and correct in all respects. It has been an entertaining year and I’ve enjoyed watching the vast majority of our matches, but KR’s inflexibility and outright stubbornness with tactics and with transfers has ultimately cost us. He needs to take a long hard look at who is REALLY to blame, and stop prattling on about bad luck.

I do wonder what game Robinsons watching sometimes first 10minutes we started well after that we were poor across the pitch. Too many lazy performances from players who looked as though they didn't care either way. Sykes terrible again, McGuane useless does nothing, Williams was poor last night, Whyte couldnt hit a barn door.

Lazy?
I`m no stats geek but something like 70% possession suggests it was rather one-way traffic.
Whilst that doesn`t win games, it was like siege warfare with them putting 10 behind the ball in the last 18 yards.
That is hard to get through and you need a bit of luck, something we never seem to get.

We just have to hope Sunderland are there for the taking on Saturday, as they will not surrender a play off place easily now.
Wycombe showed us how to do it at this stage of the season. I wouldn’t be surprised if they defy the odds and end up replacing Derby
