I’d be really interested to see Harris on the right, when he does occasionally find himself there he seems to come alive. He wouldn’t be an outright winger but could be useful there in some games. I’m not sure how much stats can predict his performance , has he played there in league one? He’s a decent player that it’s worth finding a place for (just not as sole striker)
He’s a 2nd phase forward, one who’s not o the end of things. But feeds off balls pulled back.
Not a winger but like Whyte and Mills has pace which is their biggest asset.
But defensively would outwork both

People will see what they want to see.
Most people base it on what they see, there's no agenda. Despite him wasting some chances against Carlisle before getting the only goal I was heartened to hear his post match interview where he seemed to recognise this and it was backed up by a brilliant performance at Derby where he lead the line well and scored a couple of cracking goals. However that was over four months ago and he's not scored since. I might be wrong but I think you knew about him before he signed and were pretty positive? Like I say I'm not sure and it's not a dig but in that case is it not you seeing what you want to see?
But currently Harris is our best option upfront, said preseason he’s a taller version of Gavin Whyte
Is that that much of a good thing? Whyte was pretty average last time he was with us and barely kicked a ball last season for Cardiff. Lost his place pretty quickly at Portsmouth as well this season.
And at championship Level was more involved than Whyte last season
As above don't think Whyte is particularly good. Hopefully Harris has a bit more about him but is desperately out of form.
Let him play and like Murphy, some of you will wake up,
Bit dismissive. Murphy has been between dreadful and poor until Des turned up, since then he's been one of our best players along with Brannagan. Saying people have "woken up" implies he was always good and people are only just seeing it which clearly isn't the case.

As you say wouldn’t listen to a word he says
But personally can’t say bad word about him,

Harris isn't an out-and-out scorer, but he contributes a lot. People need to stop getting hung up on this goalscoring number 9 thing. The important thing is whether the team scores goals. Between Aguero and Haaland, Man CIty played without a proper striker. Yeah Haaland now scores bucketfuls, but the total number of goals scored by the team didn't really change after he arrived. Arsenal now do the same (the non-striker these two teams had in common is of course Gabriel Jesus, who recently said he didn't think scoring goals was his "strong point".) Spain won Euro 2012 with Fabregas "up front". There are many ways to skin a cat...

I don't think he contributes that much apart from goals really. His movement and link up play is decent but I don't think it's good enough to negate the lack of goal threat. I thought someone like Ryan Taylor was very good for us despite probably having an even worse scoring record than Harris but his hold up play was excellent and he made us a better team.

I agree in principle that as long as the team scores enough it's ok but the trouble is I don't think we can afford to carry a non goalscoring striker. Man City would have had Sterling, Mahrez, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Foden etc all capable of hitting double figures. Bar Rodrigues and Brannagan (with help from penalties) we've got no one I'd be even slightly confident breaking 10 over a season. Maybe Bodin but he's not as good as Rodrigues as 10 so doesn't get in there and while I think he's individually a bit better than Harris he'd have a negative impact on Rodrigues as they play in the same sort of areas, Harris' running is more beneficial as it opens up space for him to do his thing.

Badly worded. I don't think he contributes massively even if goals are taken out of the equation. Matty Taylor didn't either but when you score around 20 every season it doesn't matter too much. When you're looking unlikely to get half of that then you need to do more than Harris does.

Unless you were suggesting you think he does contribute plenty outside of scoring goals, in which case we'll probably end up agreeing to disagree.

Listening to Buckingham’s pre Northampton match interview on ifollow I don’t think he is any hurry to find a replacement for Harris. He says he’s a very good no. 9 and very important in contributing to the way we play. He also has no doubts that he will score goals and says that when Harris gets one they will be ‘like buses’.

I’m not saying that I don’t think we will bring another striker in - it looks like we’ll have to replace Perkins - but Buckingham made a definite statement that Harris is his no. 9 and sees no problem with him and what he’s bringing to the team.

Looking forward to League 1 next season already

Simply say
What do you expect him to say?

“He’s a useless bag of s**t and I’ll eat my own cock if he scores more than 5 all season”
"Our forwards need to score more goals"

This myth about how it all facilitates some wondrous free scoring goal machine side is f*****g nuts.

What is our problem with refusing to sign strikers?!

F
Hope Beadle stays
But hopefully recruitment are looking for the right replacement from day 1
