I watched Wes Burns playing for Ipswich the other day and thought that’s the type of wingers we need. He reminded me of Ryan Williams, a busy player who gets stuck in, puts decent crosses in and gets up and down the pitch with high energy and not afraid to mix it with the opposition fullback. That’s the sort of wingers you need to get out of this league, not a player who looks great in flashes and can’t last 90 mins.

Oh to have another Stuart Massey - or even an Alex Macdonald.
Those were the two which sprung to my mind when I commented on Murphy. Not world beaters, but turned up week in, week out and gave 100% for the full 90. We cannot afford to carry any passengers.

Perfect window for me looks something like this, exciting times.

Defensive cover - Remeao Hutton or CJ Egan-Riley (Loan)

Midfield cover - Tommy Leigh or Jensen Weir (Loan)

Attacking cover - Joe Taylor (Loan) or Callum Marshall (Loan)

New ST - Ladapo or Afolabi
Afolabi has unfortunately gone to Belgium now (KV Kortrijk), but all the others are very good shouts.

Well, the fellow got injured, in common with half the team, after being available most of the season. We’ll have to see if it’s just a routine injury or another protracted layoff
Murphy was available for half a season before injury, yeah? Then, why wasn't he playing before his last 2 or 3 games??

Murphy did the same when Manning arrived, showed up looked good then disappeared. History appears to be repeating itself under Buckingham.

Manning didn’t like him, it seemed. I dunno what’s gone on or why, but Murphy seems to be blamed for injuries in a way that more solid players aren’t

It’s been patently obvious that we’ve needed strikers for years. Harris will be a great partner for an out and out striker, he harries and gets into the thick of it and could produce assists for someone who knows where the net is.
I think Harris will be a superb partner striker, like Baldock was to Taylor

Harris' goal against Charlton was the sort of thing we have been desperate for all season. Credit to him as he saw it unfolding, made the run and gambled on the cross being good enough. These are all things he's been criticised for this season, so it's only right he's recognised when he's done it well.

With him now looking like he could be that 20 goal a season striker, I wouldn't be surprised if the club cooled their interest in other options and just backed Harris to come good.
Lights blue touch paper and stands back to watch baldy explode

Murphy has been with us for a season and a half. How many games has he played 90 minutes in? If it's not injuries, then what is his problem. To me, he always looks fit, even when he's been hauled off (disappointingly) at half-time.

My view is that it's not fitness or injury that stops him playing, it's his mindset. Which for me is more worrying.

Not saying we shouldn’t make the most of Murphy this season, he is contracted to us and if he is fit and merits a place then fair enough, but we can’t offer him a new contract now, that would be ridiculous. We won’t offer him a new contract if he doesn’t contribute much for the rest of the season, that would also be ridiculous. If he has a good second half to the season he will probably get a good offer elsewhere, given we will have had him on very good money for two seasons would we really want to risk matching that?

I can’t see a situation where we would sign him on again myself, he would certainly need to accept a big wage reduction and the only way he does that is if he hasn’t performed for the rest of the season so why would we offer him a new deal.

Having both Lee Gregory and Gregory Leigh would be fun.

Nick Harris when he finds out

Saw him play against Sligo Rovers last season and he looked a right handful. Bit of a step up of course, but I would have liked to have seen him here.

If I was looking at the Bohemians side it would be either James Clarke or James McManus I’d be looking at.

I don't get the need to lose players from an already tiny squad. Gorrin is on peanuts but could come on for 10/15 minutes in a crucial game that sees us holding on to a point or 3. He is not a starter and isn't going to play a dozen games, but that's why clubs have squads.

It's the same with Henry. A couple of decent showings for 20 minutes is where he's at. A classy player who can link things together if others are doing the running for him. 45 minutes playing as the one up top against Derby was never going to be his game. He would have struggled in that role 4 of 5 years ago let alone a couple of weeks after returning from injury.

With the exception to O'Donkor going out on loam to hopefully come back better, I can see no value in looking to dump the players we have.
Jesus, you would keep both Gorin and Henry.

Both are both mere passengers, slow weak and past their sell by dates.

Henry's 2 cameos v Derby and Northampton were shocking

We must move on
