Although if he does sign surely we can change the clash's song ' Jainie Jones' to suit Jobi so that's a plus point .

If Mous is in the squad then we cannot be serious about promotion
It has been said on here to get promoted you need back up in every position and the back up should be challenging to get into the team every game
 
This window does seem to be following a familiar pattern so far. A player being sold for big money, injury prone players looking for a chance and being one of the last clubs to make any permanent signings. Maybe it’s because that’s just the way KR works and, just maybe, everything is under control though? He sounded upbeat in the last interview after the fixtures came out. He’s the guy under all the pressure to get things right so let’s give him the benefit of the doubt and see what develops this week.

Am I missing something here, whenever Mous has had to play the odd game he’s generally been great. From memory, he’s come on a couple of times late on to shore it up and done fine. Three competitive centre backs along with him and Long as back up. A lot of squads have a random player in it - Scott Carson at Man City for example, zero chance of playing but a great day to day example for others to follow and more than adequate emergency cover if called upon.

Is the squad limit 25 ? If so, then back up in every position = 22.

That’s fair enough then, think as fans we always inflate the actual worth of players. He’s only had one season in league one, so getting 2 million for a player who was previously playing in Ireland is fairly good going.

Suspect this is minimum we will receive. I wouldn’t obsess over that figure too much.

Further to that journalists are as clueless as fans on transfer fees. But he can’t release the article without a number…
 
What a transfer window, running the microscope over crocked players, and selling the family silver.

I’m sure early last week we had two deals done, and that we were close to another. But KR said there was still a way to go on that one. Well KR your either close or your not.

Mk dons sold Harry Darling to Swansea for a similar figure. Darling was in the league one team of the season and you could argue showed more than Mcnally last season. £1.6 million plus add ons is a good sell in the current climate.

You are missing something
If we are serious about promotion and that means a top two spot you can’t have players at his age who have played just a few games over the past two years
If we are hoping to maybe get a squad who can make the playoffs perhaps just in case we have a critical injury list because KR hasn’t got strength in depth in defence you might have a point
Keep him around the dressing room by all means
