Be nice if we signed Ellis Simms to annoy Blackpool now
Yep, definitely seems like the donkey lashers have thrown their toys out the pramSour grapes on their part
I'm taking this as a joke, because he's regularly appearing for Bristol City's first team and putting in good displays.Any chance of Atkinson coming back on loan for a short term fix?
Very good summation.Blackpool fans genuinely suggesting we were the ones being unreasonable. Without the release clause CamBran is worth £1.5-2m easily. We made it clear from day one - meet the release clause, we won't negotiate. They then tried to pull some bullshit where they offer cash plus Thorniley - but way overvalue Thorniley at 3-400k. We go back and say no thanks we don't value him that highly - he's a decent L1 CB but given his contract situation, performances this season, cover offered by Long and Mcnally, and how well McNally has generally performed, he's probably worth 150k max to us and CamBran is worth even more to us. Then they retaliate and recall Thorniley, despite Critchley saying he wanted to do right by him and let him play? Our stance has been clear from day one and they've faffed about with silly offers to try and get a fantastic player on the cheap - something their fans are rightly getting pissed at Forest for doing to them with Bowler!
And to the Blackpool fans having a nosey at our forum - I see you, you little munchkins - Thorniley is a good L1 CB. He had a really good start to the season with us but performances have noticeably dropped to the extent where quite a few OUFC fans have said they'd rather our young prospect McNally play instead of him. He's not "one of our best players" as has been claimed, he's been pretty good but definitely the worst of our recent CBs (Atkinson, Dickie and Nelson all now Championship players and Moore capable too). He's not going to get into your team without a very big injury crisis, so the real loser in all of this is Thorniley. If you've got a sale lined up, fair enough, but otherwise it seems a pretty poor and petty way to treat one of your players.
While you're all having a nosey at our forum - do us a favour and sign this petition to help us get our new stadium built? That way in a few years time when we're battling it out for promotion to the prem you'll be visiting a wonderful, new stadium instead of the 3 sided shithole we've been stuck in for 2 decades. Cheers darlings!: https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petiti...osal-submitted-by-oxford-united-football-club
I think they probably thought it would boost their chances of landing him, so now threatening to end his loan spell is the last desperate straw for them in the hope it spooks the club into parting with Cam. But we all know that isn't going to happen, and all Blackpool are doing is damaging their chances of landing him in the summer when we'll be more willing to let him go and more Championship clubs will be interested in him.The one thing I don't understand is this Brannagan saga is why Blackpool loaned us Thorniley in the first place (we announced him on 1st August) before starting their pursuit of Brannagan. They wouldn't have suddenly become interested in Brannagan half way through the August window, so why not do all this faffing about when we first showed interest in Thorniley.
