Transfer News January 2021/22 Transfer Window

none of this addresses what I was actually saying in my post...

His development has been hampered by poor management and lack of opportunity. A system which is never suited to him. He was bought by us as an exciting prospect and is now ageing. He may play higher than us if given a proper chance in a different system.

What part of this are we disagreeing on, exactly?
I have supported Agyei since he was here and felt he should be given more chances but after his goal against Stevenage haven’t seen anything to say he could improve with us. So now I wouldn’t be to bothered if he did leave.
But fwiw he is a decent young man.

isn't that what people want and your squad is meant to be, if Matty was no 1 choice keeps him on his toes also much more than some young never will be prem player or similar.
Hell of a lot of money to pay to ' keep Matty on his toes ' .
While loving the investment don't want it splashed unwisely .
Stockton would rightly be expecting to start every game if not why buy a 28 yo .
Left winger , centre mid for me with a good up and coming player to rival Matty.

Not sure how accurate this is, but...

Those are very specific fees Steve - £684k for Johnson and £203K for Brannagan! I suppose the figure might include the transfer fee and extraneous fees. Any idea @RyanioBirdio ?

The creator of Transfermarkt basically confirmed all their values for transfer fees are "best guesses" based on contacts they have in the game, and little snippets they pick up from clubs/agents. Possibly even a currency conversation at the time the deal was entered onto the website as well.

if we've learned anything about our board it's they're no mugs and wont suffer fools gladly or accept pis* takers..if the recruitment team/coaches etc say this player and they're prepared to back that judgement then fair play.

The ideal scenario of 2 players for each position has to be decent quality, if anyone under performs then you have an ideal replacement rather than some kid who regardless of performance drops out next game.

Fourth best defence in the league you mean?

We don’t keep a lot of clean sheets though. We don’t concede a lot in games, but we do concede most games if that makes sense. Suppose that’s the difference between play off contenders and automatics, the top 2 are better at grinding out 1-0 wins, over a season those points add up.

Teams who win lots of games 1-0 tend to have a bad run coming. Margin of victory a better tell of a good team than marginal ones.

Very torn on Stockton - large part of me feels it’s a trap

I see Ipswich have recalled Tyreece Simpson from his successful loan at Swinetown (11 goals in 30). I wonder if Ipswich are proposing to sell him?

That would be funny.

According to Football Manager, there’s a 150k buy clause in Holland’s contract, if that was the case, would you spend that to free up another loan space in the squad, generally football manager is accurate with these things though 🤷‍♂️

try telling George Graham that ,think his side went the whole season unbeaten the 1-0 boring king
Wenger was in charge for the "Invincibles" season of 2003/4, not George Graham, who won his two titles in the late 80s/early 90s.
