Transfer News January 2021/22 Transfer Window

Hell of a lot of money to pay to ' keep Matty on his toes ' .
While loving the investment don't want it splashed unwisely .
Stockton would rightly be expecting to start every game if not why buy a 28 yo .
Left winger , centre mid for me with a good up and coming player to rival Matty.
Don’t agree with that, Taylor knows he will start every game, having them rivals for a spot in the side can only be healthy for both, even better if we played them together 😱

According to Football Manager, there’s a 150k buy clause in Holland’s contract, if that was the case, would you spend that to free up another loan space in the squad, generally football manager is accurate with these things though 🤷‍♂️
Trouble is how much do you have to pay him, I bet he’s on a sizeable chunk at WHU
Bit like the Garbutt situation he was signing for nobody until his contract was almost at an end and who could blame him on 30k a week. He eventually signed for Blackpool but I doubt he is on 10k a week there

Getting irresistible Stewart Donald on Deadline Day in Sunderland Til I Die vibes about shelling out the thick end of a million quid for a striker who’s hit double figures in a season twice (three times if you count 16-17, where the goals were split between NL and L2) in 11 seasons as a pro.

Same one great season, but that is all. Also like others have said you don’t spend that sort of money for him to rotate with Taylor.
I'm inclined to disagree, maybe.
Two goal scoring strikers in regular contention for a first team place creates healthy competition.
And it also opens up two solid strikers to provide an option of 3-5-2 when play/opposition dictates.
I appreciate it's only one true season of goals... But he's at a poor side at the moment. The creativity we have in Branners, Kane, Bodin, Holland, Long can only equate to more goals of we have someone like Stockton to deliver to?
£650k is A LOT of wonga though.
Tough one.

I wouldn’t pay Holland anything more than £3,500 a week, that’s the max I’d pay him & that would put him on par with some of our middle range earners at the moment.

I suppose you're paying 650k for someone who is in the form of their life and might be able to take you up this season.

For a player who doesn't rely on his pace, no reason why he can't keep playing at L1 level beyond 33
Easily keep playing past that age , as long as doing the business. He doesn't rely on pace and could keep going in the squad for a few years yet

We very rarely have played two up top , healthy competition should be all over the field .
Because he scored for Morecombe doesn't mean he will for us although I'd like to think he would.
Much prefer us to spend it on Matt Stevens / Nicky Cadden who have a resale value as well as offering competition or improving the side .
A ball winning centre mid also a big statement.

As we seem to be talking about players wages I was just wondering will there be a

Cole Stockton scored.against Wycombe and assisted another. He's the exact competition we need for Taylor. Defoe isn't.
