I'd quite like us to put in a cheeky bid for George Dobson at Charlton, seen him play a few times, and he's been superb every time, and he'll be out of contract in the summer...
Dobson is class, Corey Blackett-Taylor is also out of contract in the summer, both would walk into most teams in this league. I'd love either here but would imagine they're holding on to move for free in the summer and get the best deal.

Can we f**king sign someone now ?

I hear your frustration old chap.

Which reminds me. I was chatting to our CEO the other day, he gave some sage advice about what to do to help relieve stress, anxiety and general unhappiness. Told me it really helped him when he was getting grief about his reluctance to sack Karl.

Put this classic on your turntable and sing along.

Well then it's about time we adopted a ruthless streak, and got in there early to make them an offer they can't refuse

We've got the money, now it's time we had the aggression to back it up...

He's 27! Soon he'll be past it
Blimey, didn't realise that. In that case, as he's now in the prime years of his career, it would be understandable if he wanted to test himself at that level if the opportunity arose.

Let's hope not though eh? ;)

I tried asking ChatGPT what striker(s) which should be taking on in this transfer window. The out of date access to information hasn't helped:

League One:

  1. Jonson Clarke-Harris (Peterborough United) - Known for his goalscoring ability and physical presence.
  2. Charlie Wyke (Sunderland) - A reliable goalscorer with a good scoring record.
  3. Siriki Dembélé (Peterborough United) - A dynamic forward who can also provide assists.
League Two:

  1. Eoin Doyle (Bolton Wanderers) - A prolific goalscorer who has consistently performed well.
  2. Matt Jay (Exeter City) - Known for his versatility and ability to score and create goals.
  3. Danny Johnson (Leyton Orient) - A goalscorer who has been impressive in League Two.

Remember Plymouth's January window last season? Waine, Matete (loan), Earley, Callum Wright & Tyreik Wright all early in the window.

Have wanted Matete for many windows now. I suspect Ebou Adams will be off to AFCON. Certainly would like a dominating midfield type (Coventry & Docherty already mentioned) - but that's not really the Oxford way.

What's Danny Bullman up to?

Still no Des iFollow interview yet, hopefully we get something in the next couple hours

Yes. Definitely spending above our means. Even the 200k in 1997 for Wilsterman is surprising given only 2 years later the hero Kassam saved us. I think we were £13m in debt?
Wilsterman was signed using some of the £1.4m we got from Leicester for Matty Elliott. We really had Purse lined up as the replacement, but obviously needed an extra body in the building, although one match after Wilsterman signed we ended up getting in Chris Whyte as a free who played out the rest of the season.

The Charlton fan that posted on here recently said that Dobson, Blackett-Taylor and May were their only decent players.

And we need a central midfielder, a winger and a striker.

Perhaps we could temporarily merge with Charlton. Take their best players to fill the positions in our squad and then also have somewhere to play in 2026 when we're homeless. It's the perfect solution to many problems.
