Has anyone taken Coventry and Wimbledon? I'll do those if not, I feel our plight will resonate with them.

Coventry has been picked up by @DSM but please do go with Wimbledon, that would be great. Although it's EPL, perhaps Brighton too if you fancy a second with a potentially sympathetic club? Latest updates on who's picking up what below.

Will update again later today if more people are happy to pick up some of the remaining gaps.

Excellent, thanks a lot - please do amend the suggested template copy in message #10,622 as you see fit - that can be found here:

Even if we only get a modest number of sign-ups, it will mean we can (hopefully) pick these threads on other Forums back up in the autumn to also ask that they respond to the statutory planning public consultation.

Would still love for @OxVox and @Paul P to also contact their equivalents at other clubs directly too, to ask that they respond on behalf of supporter trusts. And perhaps see if the FSA will share with members asking for their support too.
Hi

I'll do Walsall, Northampton and Crawley Town

I've given it another little push on the Sunderland forum and made it clear that Donald and Methven aren't at all involved with us, and that Methven in particular is disliked by most OUFC fans. If it continues to go poorly I'll just delete the post to stop any risk of them replying negatively to spite us.

Apparently our fans were particularly awful to them whilst they were in League 1 which was interesting to me.
Sunderland fans with chips on their shoulders. Well I for one am shocked!

I may do Brentford too, what does everyone think? Same architects and a small triangular site like theirs
Yes they would be a good shout.

Other clubs that have moved to new grounds in recent(ish) years, are in the process of moving, or are redeveloping significantly, would be good too. Perhaps any of the following, if people are happy to go on their Forums?

  • York City (moved to new ground in 2021)
  • Brentford (moved to new ground in 2020)
  • Boston United (moved to new ground in 2020)
  • Barnet (moved to new ground in 2013)
  • Rotherham (moved to their ground in 2012)
  • Cardiff City (moved to their ground in 2009)
  • Forest Green Rovers (moved to new ground in 2006)
  • Swansea (moved to their ground in 2005)
  • Everton (plans to move to a new ground)

That Wimbledon forum is a mess. “Underground press”

I’ve register for the Exeter forum, just waiting on confirmation email to come through, and approval. I’m at work so won’t get to post there until later in the day, once approved.

What a good idea this was, whoever thought of this should be given Yellows Forum Royalty 🤴

Didn't look like my message went through so I asked their mods to just delete the thread. We definitely got a few positive responses to the survey, but I suspect they'll have been counteracted by negative responses from Sunderland fans still burned by Donald and Salmon Pant's escapades. Hopefully apathy won over and they took their anger out on me rather than by responding to the survey negatively.
There is a big risk with approaching these forums.
I'm not sure how useful it will be in the end. There will be a mix of responses. How would we feel if FOSB approached every environmental group in the country and asked them to get members to fill in the survey?

Ian Muddleton Yarnton Councillor has now complained to one of our own on nextdoor that we are trying to drum up support from other clubs some even hundreds of miles away, the bloke is an absolute bell end

God forbid we ask people who will actually use the stadium and get the benefits of it to respond to the survey!

PS Hello Ian. Please make an account and talk to us. We're a friendly bunch really, not the loutish thugs you make us out to be. Just don't go to the Transfers thread.

Old Cautiously Neutral seems not to realize that fans come to Oxford United from all over the country, mostly to support their teams against us, but they'll also massively benefit from being able to use public transport and be in a fabulous stadium to watch their team lose (well, at least they'll get the benefit of the public transport and fabulous stadium, but they can't have everything). So obviously it's in their interest to support the idea of a new stadium for us.
