And we were crap today and that’s why we won’t make the playoffs this season
You do come out with some bizarre comments Baz

I assume after last Tuesday you thought we would win the Champions League

The fact the 11th place are only 3pts off the Play Offs tells you what's been staring us in the face throughout the season, that All teams are capable of beating one another.

Some say we can't beat the top sides yet after Sunderland is that not us done with those above?

That’s a bit unfair. Recruitment didn’t totally work out this year but it wasn’t all our fault- Mcguane injured, Cooper didn’t work out, Clare was a decent player but not what we expected, Winnall unfit (ok that was probably our fault). Our big mistake was not replacing Dickie numerically, leading to a terrible start.

But we must work out how to deal with a hard pressing side, we're so easy to nullify.
hmm well if there's what 3/4 in the press, another 2/3 marking our wingers me thinks there's alot of free space to move into

Not at all, we played great Tuesday night and if we had played today 2/3rds of how we played on Tuesday we would have had a result today but alas we didn’t and that could be costly almost certainly was but you never know.
Sunderland maybe the last top side we play but we should be heading there to try and win.
Sorry but I don’t think we will be in the play offs this season

kinda figured that mate but whether we do or not wont be due to the (cough) reasoning you use

For those saying you don’t see what Kelly does on the pitch, we did today. Also does cam bran have to keep losing his s**t when things don’t go his way, I know he’s lucky to have got over his injury and he’s coming back to match fitness but it just means kr had to decide if he needs to take him off before he gets sent off.

Having slept on it

I feel Blackpool did their homework, they can see how we dominate poorer teams when we press them and how the better teams press us and don’t let us play
So no coincidence that every time teams press up we knock it sideways then hit the long ball
We just don’t have the quality to cope with this, not necessarily KR’s fault, most teams in the top8 have better squads than us.
We may/ may not sneak into the playoffs and if we did the impossible I would suggest only 5 of our players would be good enough for the Championship
Stevens, Atkinson,Moore,Branagan and Taylor. In fact as I don’t think we will get promoted we should build a squad around these players especially if there may be more money now
If we look at the squad we had 2 years ago With the likes of Browne, Whyte, Baptiste, Dickie and Henry and Eastwood at their best we were stronger
If there is new money let’s spend it wisely and go for it next season

yesterday, if Agyei was in the 9 instead of 10 role maybe the long(er) ball approach may have paid dividends?

fair assessment overall though @The mighty Aldo

What we miss is very simple, an effective mid-field. There is a distinct lack of movement off the ball and the two centre backs are left wondering who to pass to other than each other and the keeper. To see Taylor coming back into mid-field to generate his own supply is testament to the ineffective nature of what we currently put out every game.
This was further compounded yesterday by the lack of any decent passing. No excuses there, Blackpool moved the ball around with ease.

Do we need to press more, need to run our backsides off more from the front. WORK WORK!

Stevens I am not convinced is Championship quality yet. Taylor hasn't done it with Bristol City in the Championship so I am not convinced at his age he is Championship quality.

Morning all.

A few thoughts on yesterday.

Blackpool: Fair play to them, thought they looked good tbh, had a plan, worked as a team, held their shape
very well and have some decent technicians, if i was a Blackpool fan i would be very happy today.

Oxford: Not great from KR, outdone tactically and couldnt find the answers, the switch between Ruffels and
Barker worked for about 5 minutes. Overall thought we were ok, have seen us play worse, possibly a bit
unlucky to come up against Blackpool at this moment in time in the same way that the fixture list was quite
kind to us on tuesday.

Players:
Hanson, too many brain farts, as capable of putting pressure on the opposition defence with a pass as
he is ours, i think he really fancies himself as a cultured passer and tbf he has the ability, but he has
moments when he just prods a ball to no one and all of a sudden we are on the back foot and its
panic stations, i really wish he would cut that out, did the same v Tranmere.

Kelly, for the first 5 or 10 mins i thought he was one of our better players, chased, hit a good crossfield
ball to Barker and seemed up for it, and that was that.. His next action was to try a complicated looking pass
with a bouncing ball while running, it didnt come off and from that moment on it was all down hill, mentally not
on it and if Pep (shudder) was still around i have no doubt we would have heard FOKUS a fair few times in
his post match interview. Wherever his mind was when he played that pass, it wasnt on football.

Not such a fun fact :
Our midfield trio of Gorrin, Kelly, Brannagan have played a total of 5524 minutes for 1 goal scored and that
was a Gorrin penalty, add a total of 4 assists between the 3 of them and miserly is way to soft of a word to
describe that contribution ! Throw Sykes into the mix with his 1180mins 0 goals, 0 assists and its actually a
miracle we are anywhere near the play offs.

Reasons to be cheerful :
Still in the mix, players about to come back, if we can get 4 points from the next 2 we will still be in the hunt and
then we get a really handy week off after that.

Interesting points, I am not actually convinced Hanson does have the quality you speak about on the ball. I have never seen it. Our lack of goals from midfield is a real problem.

Probably agree with that which makes the situation even worse
Don’t want to be Wycombe
Coventry were a really good side last year and look where they are. It is a huge jump and at the moment we are way off
