Don't want to use covid as an excuse BUT. Remember just before the pandemic hit we had 3 home games in a row with an over 10k crowd at each with a clever marketing promotion, we also were starting to take huge numbers to away games like the Shrewsbury game for instance. Obviously Covid derailed the push to get more fans in and its only just starting to recover from fans shielding themselves, a few not happy with the way handled the season ticket situation last season and also some fans having to find other work to survive so might not have the funds to attend. Look at the attendances in the championship, league one and two and its affected every club.

We can build a bigger fanbase but it's going to take time so stop being negative.

I know it takes time we’ve had plenty of time, and how longer must that time be? When your grandchildren start attending matches.
I want nothing more than an average 15k support at home and that’s Oxford fans but just can’t see it

We never done it right bazzer from the move from the Manor, Kassam wasn't interested in building the fanbase only lining his pockets. This time around as long as the club are still going the right direction when we move we will capture more regulars.

Gareth Ainsworth has been giving him lessons mentioning budgets in his interview. His mind must be utterly blown by Sunderland, Wigan and Ipswich's budgets!

We will be about where we were last season compared to other clubs iirc the comments in pre-season even though it has increased.
To be fair, our budget compared to Morecambe's is different league. Adams did brilliantly to get them up last season and they lost their best player in the summer to Luton.

Ainsworth commenting on budgets however is laughable, and it was even before their spell in the championship..

Agreed but the gap in budget was a given tbh and was rather crowbarred into the interview by their manager.

McGuane is a powerful looking bloke for someone with good touch, vision and mobility, obviously ended up down here because of his injuries (that was the first time I have seen him the flesh) but you get the feeling that if we can get and keep him fit he is comfortably above this level.
Agree. From a fans perspective he has all the right ingredients to become a top player for us and follow the likes of Baptiste to better things (unless he can take us with him!). No doubt he needs some luck avoiding injuries.

It does bring me some comfort that if the interest in Brannagan was to do another round in January as we all expect, then we have somebody there who could be every bit as influential in the second half of the season to finish what we’ve started.

I bloody hope so. I feel the announcement of the take over being ratified surely must be this coming week with all the board present.

I hope so Baz then maybe all of us can get some piece and quiet rather than having to read negative posts about it not happening

Don’t need to I was there…were you?
Bit sick of hearing your negative bullshit. What is your plan for the future? Please spell it out in detail for everyone. You hate Bournemouth for owner investment, despite the fact it has been great for them, yet seem to want us to be at a similar level to them. You also seem very sceptical about, what seem likes, some very decent investment in the club. Tell us your grand plan instead please.

Owner investment? 🤣🤣 don’t make me laugh, they breached FFP rules heavily 2 years running with an owner who was prepared to pay the overpayments one the FFP in fines, can’t see our new owners want ing to do the same it was an estimated 20 million pounds in fines he had to pay.
Yes they could do the same and yes with that investment we could have an almost complete new team to achieve what Bournemouth achieved.
But the draw back is if he pulls out and leaves the club with the debt who would want to take over a club with a very high financial burden. The investment the new ( when they’re ratified ) owners will invest in a new ground that’s going to cost somewhere more than 30 million but will their be significant investment in the playing side ie a few million to Alger the players we will need to be competitive in the championship bid we can get there.
Don’t think that’s to much to ask and I’m sure these new owners to be will enlighten us with their plans as soon as an announcement is made.
Finally if Max Denim sells Bournemouth and leaves the debt with the club unless they can find someone willing enough to pay the debt and still have a debt a high one at that then more fool them.
