Tickets Doncaster Rovers- attendance

I remember that game. Chesterfield seemed so good and the standard so high, and we were glad of the point. But we quickly got to grips with it, which hopefully we'd do with the championship.
It did feel like a decent point but later that season we stuffed them 4-0 at their place and they ended up going down.

Do you know if the club can specifically access the extra 1000/2000 who obviously have been coming since the turn of the year. Could they send out letters /e mails /texts encouraging them to become season ticket holders or if not packages of 8 games at a discount. It seems we have kindled a new interest and it would be a great shame not to build on this.
It would be great to get a nucleus of 8/8500 home fans at every game and the club should be going all out to attract these fans
Yes they can, and yes they will.

The promotion of season tickets has been delayed by the recent results, trying to pick the right moment so to speak. The target should be increased season ticket sales, with the first priority being retention of the existing, and then a different kind of approach to turn the new occasional fans into season ticket holders. A third type of approach should be to lapsed season ticket holders.

An increase in season tickets will then result in an increase in total attendance figures. We will end up with an 8,500 average this season, so 9,000 seems eminently doable. Something should be coming out very soon from the club.

Hopefully a big home win Saturday followed by season ticket announcement at full time would make sense.

Seems a distant memory but did Doncaster pack out the North Stand during a promotion year in early " Two Thousand "? If so the worm has turned once again! The glorious uncertainty of football.

Yes they did. 2004 when they gained promotion out of league 2. Away fans only in the North stand back then was the normal and an attendance of 8483 overall but I'm sure Doncaster bought over 2k.

I had assumed that data protection would have hindered any blanket emailing, this is not the case then?

There is an opt out option of future marketing when purchasing tickets. If you don't click that you will be on the clubs database and get weekly emails, this doesn't go against the data protection act.

Data protection is a hurdle. The club has a database, it's debatable as to when that data can be accessed.

As long as the person using it has reasonable grounds, and the receiver has the ability to opt out and/or opt in then all is good I would have thought?
How many of us "sign up" for newsletters & special offers without any problems?

Do you know the final ST number for this season Colin?
I would think that theclub would be targeting an extra 500 to 1000 next season based in the increased interest this season?

Thanks for the reply Colin, glad to see the club have something in hand

This season was 4,700 season tickets.

That lot down the A420 are targeting 6,000 for next season, so no reason why we can't do the same. They had a similar number of season tickets to us this season, but gave away about 850 tickets to various groups for each game. I'm not sure they'll reach 6,000, as they've had their big boost from Lee Power going, but I think we should throw the gauntlet down and make sure we sell more than them.

Target 6,000 and end up with 5,500 wouldn't be the end of the world. That's the number we had first season back in League One I think, so we've done it before.

No it wasn't.

Are you sure? I remember the Scunthorpe game when part of the roof structure of the South stand came loose so they escorted us round the pitch into the empty north stand.

I do remember the North Stand being closed for home fans for quite a while around that time, can't remember how long it lasted for however, but certainly a significant amount of home games.

That was a game vs Kidderminster.
