He didn't cover himself in glory for either goal I think. The first he didn't really challenge for so Hirst had a free header, Moore then didn't see it out and Sefton completely lost his man so it wasn't completely his fault by any means. The second he didn't get particularly close but also though McNally should have been stronger, I think that goal showed we aren't quite there yet with 3 at the back as there looked to be a lot of confusion.

Otherwise it was hard to tell. He was mostly solid but we played against 10 for most the game, I'd have probably had him off at half time and gone to a back 4 to open it up a bit, we had the ball most the time and another attacking option would have been useful. Fingers crossed he gets sharper with more games if we stick with this formation.
His long throws look dangerous though.

May have missed it but this incident in the tunnel which apparently was a medical issue, why were stewards sprinting from the north to the south stands and why were the Old Bill in attendance? Seems there could be more to this than we’ve been told.
possibly? .... with KR & Cowley both sticking to script about a 'medical incident' .... slightly reminiscent of MApp at Sc*m away , when there was (probably) an incident in the tunnel post the 1-2 win there, but any questions were answered with more or less a curt 'no comment' type response

doubt if whatever did happen ( yesterday) will make it into the public domain given both managers are singing from the same hymn sheet & giving nothing more than 'medical incident' as the explanation

I’m not sure the ref added any time on for the time wasted. There was the lengthy injury, a couple of other injuries, three goals and seven bookings in the second half. Easily ten minutes without the time wasting.

We are getting more vocal in the SSL . Alas no one joins in my oooh it's a corner chant.
If the new ground could replicate the old London road stand for noise as Kassam stadium is light years away .
If Robinson was at manor in them days he would have chosen ears ringing from the noise especially on midweek games cup nights.
The only other request is for the away end to have no roof so funny watching the fans getting soaked especially when losing.?

No we would show us to be a professionally run club giving the same to away fans as the home fans.
I’ve stood on the open end deathtraos of Newport’s ground it ain’t nice

I take it that we're calling this bullshit

Why don’t refs go up to the captain and tell them that time wasting will be added on, the Pompey goalie knew he wouldn’t get a second booking for it so took the P**s, shame it came back to haunt him. 🤣🤣🤣

Why bother ? Their choice to time waste, why should the ref do them any favours ?

I was quite surprised how Portsmouth went about the game. I suppose I shouldn't have been looking at who is managing them, but it was very negative stuff. If you are playing that way and winning it's one thing, but watching that and being sat in midtable surely isn't good enough for them. We made hard work of it, but were actually better value for the win than a one goal margin.

I thought the ref got the sending off correct - not only was his foot very high, but his studs were showing and he made contact: the definition of 'reckless'. Not malicious perhaps, but a sending off. He got the other one wrong - that was a sending off as well. He did add a decent amount of time on at the end - realistically it could have been a minute or two more. But Pompey lost in the time added on for their time wasting, so justice was done.

We need to sort out the defence. We can't be conceding so easily and hope to score 3 or more goals to win a game - you can't do that over and over again. Not sure the three at the back worked really, but was probably worth trying.

Getting bored with the 'we were really quiet all the time' rubbish on here. We weren't. And if you are expecting the whole home crowd to act the same as those diehards who go away and to do so all match long, then you are going to be disappointed. I agree that a bit of song variation wouldn't go amiss though - maybe the new Fanatics can take the lead there?

1 . Who cares about Pompey.
2. The ref done us a favour.
3.what about the defense we won & we're 5.
4. What's going away got to do with it

You don't really make much of a positive contribution here do you?

1. We played them yesterday, so perhaps talking about how they played might be of some interest to those who watched the game. We are allowed to mention other teams you know?
2. Rubbish, he sent off one too few of their players and played a bare minimum of added on time at the end of each half. He could also have booked a couple more of their players...
3. 'What about the defense'? Brilliant analysis there, thanks! If you don't think it's harder to score three to win a game than one, then I despair!
4. Because those who go away can normally congregate with like minded folk to sing/sit/stand - and are more concentrated together - so the support is more vocal.

What do you mean? Are you happy to leave the " London Road "? East Stand is the only place to be.
The mates I used to go with have all drifted away a bit from going regularly, for various reasons, so it's now a much more refined way of watching in the SSL with my Dad and other family. I do miss being able to fully let loose in the East stand though. I think if I sang and shouted like that in the SSL I'd be escorted out for disturbing the peace. I get my fix at any away games I go to.

Maybe you should persuade your family to move into the North Stand, we have a happy median there. It's rather gradient, you have the Families with kids on the left, more reserved in the middle and the more vociferous to the right side goading the away fans. It's great fun.
