Transfer News January 2021/22 Transfer Window

Has an interview been released in the last couple of hours ?

United head coach Karl Robinson said: “First of all, we thank Jordan for what he did here.

“He settled in straight away, he is a tremendous competitor and it has been a pleasure to have him here. We wish him well back at Blackpool.

“We have options in that position and because we always knew there was the recall clause we have made plans for all eventualities.

“We will wait and see if we need to bring in a direct replacement in the next week or so.”

Thanks.

In true KR form I doubt he'll sign a like for like replacement. I expect McNally will play (don't mind that) with Long staying at RB but will play CB if needed with Forde playing RB when Long plays CB.

The wages will be used on a winger I'd imagine or a another import from Ireland who'll need a season or two to develop.
That’s acting like a big club aiming to be in the top 30 positions in the leagues, not!

Don'r rule out him coming back on a permenant or loan before the window shuts. Sure they don;t really want/need him on the wage bill. There was a reason they loaned him to us in the first place.

Let's see what happens. Personally, if it allows McNally a place in the team, plus if we can bring ANOTHER talented centre half in then this may not be awful news!

It is also an opportunity for Golding and Nosakhare to push their claims for a 1st team squad place.

We don't always need to look at resale value. Matty Taylor will have no resale value but could get us 70 goals over his contract. No reason why Stockton couldn't do the same, and it he gets most of those goals in the Championship for us then £650k will be peanuts. And we're definitely not ignoring other positions. I think we'll being in 3 or 4 new players and will be stronger throughout the team.
Any news on Matt Stevens Eggy?

But our model is a mix of strategies..

We sign some who are clearly potential signings (Atkinson etc), some are about the ‘here and now’.

Stockton falls more into the ‘hear and now’ category, he can come in and make an immediate difference. He’s match fit and in form.

I really hope we get him.

I agree it's not either/or. For every Atkinson, you need a Henry or Matty Taylor.

Considering the outlay, I wonder whether that money is better invested in more sellable options to keep us ticking over. The profits we've made on players like Roofe, Johnson, O'Dowda, Dickie etc have allowed to shop for the next stars. I don't want that to get lost by us gambling on flavour-of-the-month signings whose resale value is going to be limited.

Will Grigg looked like a home banker for Sunderland and look how that ended up ...

Trust me when I walk around Pompey city centre i don't see much sign of Pompey fc. Saying that you do see loads of fans wearing shirts jackets etc. You also don't see many other teams shirts, unless you go in the sports shops which are full of premiership teams shirts.
