Is Robinson really that good at his rambling, and such a nice, caring person who can do no wrong, that people are actually starting to blame Cameron Brannagan? The guy who won the game against Cheltenham? The guy who got us into the second round of the Caraboa Cup? The guy who is our top scorer?

Brannagan is not the problem. Robinson is.

Thats around half what we expect to take to such a game. Did we not take 1000 ish last time?
Train strike. Awkward cross country journey, on i follow, A12 diversion with huge 45 min traffic jam, cash crisis, cold. All valid factors. Not excusing a poor hour by the side. Central defenders clearly nervy in front of our rookie keeperh

Mental to think that 3 of our 6 wins came in the first 7 games (and by 3rd September) in what was a poor start to the season.

Would have been unthinkable then that we'd only manage another 3 wins by Boxing Day - over the course of the next (nearly) 3 months.

Yet here we are.

There is no point to be made other than to recognise the absurd season that this has become.

Of course he is, but CB isn’t immune from criticism.

Disappointing , Anderson performs much better running from deep as a right back funnily enough . McGinty didn't seize the chance , Moore very tentative and off the pace. Taylor , Henry just not what they were .
Hoping for mid table but worried we could get dragged in relegation scrap.
Really want to see GoD and Tyler given more time as both offer more than the majority of players !
Ipswich a good team that we made look amazing.
Thursday needs a reaction now

That goalkeepers who make their Football League debut in a crushing 3-0 away defeat for Oxford United tend to go on to win the World Cup in the subsequent 12 years..?

He’s Scottish so that’s not going to happen, perhaps he will help them beat Moldova.

Behave.

Much like how he learned from the Blackpool playoff defeat where our midfield got physically embarrassed and walked over.

He learned from that and addressed it this year by not signing a defensive midfielder and signing 5ft7 Lewis Bate.
Don't worry though, Billy Bodin and James Henry can fill in...

He never learns, we never progress.
Bate is getting better and better, he was the best player on the pitch at Hillsborough

Yep, not really relevant to my point though. Robinson always signs decent footballers, Bate is a very good footballer. Unfortunately you need more than that to get out of this league and that was the point I'm trying to make.

We already had good ball playing midfielders who needed some defensive reinforcement and physical reinforcement, we then signed Bate.

Decent player, not what we needed. A typical Robinson signing.

You’re right, Brown isn’t the best as wing back but today would have been a good one for a surprise five at the back system.

Wouldn’t even of been a surprise five considering it’s the formation Ipswich play.

Their best 2 players were Davis & Burns at wing backs.

Decent player who we’d see glimpses of for a year then he pisses off back to Leeds & probably out on loan to the Championship next season.

Whilst we slug away in League 1.

Of course he isn't immune from criticism, but Brannagan is our top scorer. He's been one of, if not our best player this season.

He may not be immune from criticism, but the criticism he's getting is entirely undeserved.

We are being oufc -very inconsistent and the + of that form isn't that good but I'd rather be slogging it out in lg1 than 2.

To me that match more or less confirms that our promotion chances this year are as close to zero as you can get. Unless the club signs eight or nine quality player in January (unlikely as very few of such quality would want to join) then a lower mid table position is the most likely. Current form over the last ten league matches of win two, draw six and lose two would also confirm this.
With the long term aim this season of avoiding relegation each match will have to be taken on its own. And expectation taylored to that end.

Our defence had been looking sound so randomly we move Anderson away from right back. He has pace and pushes forward with purpose. He is ineffective in the more forward role. Why change. Decide between Long Moore and Findlay for 2 positions. Seems Bates was unwell and Karl just changes the whole team. Stop tinkering and trying to be clever. How many times do you have to do this and lose before you realise it doesn't work... frustrating

There’s absolutely no way that Brannagan has been our best player this season. Don’t get me wrong, he’s not been awful, I’d say he’s been about average, which is better than a lot (or even most) of our players, but such a massive drop from his usual standards that it’s very noticeable.

Cameron Brannagan has massively dropped off his form from the incredibly high he usually plays at, there’s no denying that. I don’t personally buy that it’s the team making him do that as the Cam of old would force it and drag the team kicking and screaming with him, but he just seems to have lost that edge; that pass, that final ball, that movement, those snappy tackles.
