Have Leeds got a recall option for Bate? He is key I think. Will be lnteresting to see if he will be available for the arsenal match we will definitely need him!
I think we have an optional future fee, though I doubt it’s of a realistic price

I know it's frustrating the lack of transfer buisness in the summer and players like Murphy, Baldock, Wildschut, Joseph, Browne getting injuries, but that is in the past. We can only try and fix the present and to look towards the future.

We are 5 good players away from being very competitive in this league and we may well get them in January.

As for the stadium. Progress was always going to be slow but hopefully we should see more movement next year.

Keep the faith
To get 5 good players in January will be extremely difficult. Clubs will keep better players so we will be picking from players who are not in contention, those whose will be let go in the summer or youth players from the Championship or Premiership.
Or crocks!

Cracking first half.
Flaky second.

Bagged a win against a team in free fall, that`ll do.
Exeter put 4 past Brizzle last night...

Thoughts on last night

That was the best half of football I’ve seen this season
Crisp one touch passing, attacking play at its best

Positives
Murphy, Anderson, outstanding in that first half
Bate,Brown, Moore, Bodin,Long andMc Guane also vey good throughout the game

Negatives
Windshutt very poor, but he may be a bit rusty so will see what he’s like next time out
Free kicks, other than the Brannagan effort we were so bad at free kicks failing to beat the first defender on several occasions.Bodin should take them not Bate
Controversial but Brannagan is not the player he was last season, not sure if that’s because Kane was alongside him and got more out of him but his trademark long cross field passes have gone and he doesn’t look as threatening going forward

Overall pleased with the win but giving the ball away cost us a goal and made thing’s unnecessarily uncomfortable until the third goal

We got Ciaron Brown last year in January. I would argue he's been our most consistent best player over the last year. Plenty of players available on loan too, we only have 2 players on loan and can accommodate 5 in a match day squad.

I have a feeling we will get 2/3 loan players in but no permanent deals other than maybe another Irish youngster.
Hopefully another forward and defensive midfielder and maybe a left back which will enable Brown to play in his natural position of left centre back. This will then make sure we have completion for places
Joseph will be back soon and I hope Browne is not out for too long.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Jones,Smyth and Goodrham go out on loan
Also Brannagan may be on some clubs radar

Agree with all your post apart from Brannagan, I thought he looked back to his best last night. Energy level was immense and closing down was superb, kept the midfield ticking over, was always available for a pass. Him and Bate together looked very good last night.

Yes he was better last night but still not hitting the standards we saw last season, hopefully with better attacking options we will get more from him

Missed the first half as picking family up from the airport. Sod’s Law we play well!

Second half we looked frenetic. Desperately need someone like Kane who can put a foot on the ball in the midfield to slow the game down when we need to. Might then not have to rely on all the shenanigans that if it was Wycombe, we’d be deriding.

Thought Bodin was fouled for their goal, although he still should have been stronger.

Tough game Sunday, and worries me that we expect to win it…….

Regarding Windshutt, I saw nothing there to tell me why Jodi Jones is being ignored. In the limited games he has had he has shown glimpses of being a good player for us.
KR obviously has no time for Jones,so it begs the question
Why the hell did he sign him?
I am.not sure that you can judge Windshutt yet
He is getting back to fitness. I suspect that he will prove to be a very good player when fit.

Exeter put 4 past Brizzle last night...

And conceded 3.

Not altogether surprising, they've both scored and conceded plenty this season (back in October they were incredibly flaky as we put 4 past them ourselves).

They  should be the perfect opponent for us on Sunday in an open game with plenty of chances.

Expecting another good win.

Brannagan not going anywhere.

I’ve been critical of KR but he got it right last night. They couldn’t deal with us first half. About 1 minute in they pressed really high and I thought they’ll be easy to hit on the break or turnover and man did we do that well. Second half they worked out that Anderson is often too far forward at the wrong time and their 32 (?) down their LH flank gave us problems. A change by KR bringing Long over to our RH and they were contained again. Good solid performance.
Only issue is they were poor, maybe that’s harsh perhaps rather disorganised. When the players stopped and came over for a drink I’ve never seen so many coaches giving advise, there was about six of em!

We have scored 8 and conceded 3 against them in the two games played in the last couple of months, it’s definitely not going to be a nil nil (thank god because New Years Day games can be pretty quiet affairs crowd wise with everyone suffering).

Back to back home games against Charlton and Exeter is as good a chance to get a run going and put some points on the board as we are going to get, done the first part now need to follow it up.

It’s now got 0-0 written all over it!!
